Saturday, June 20th, 2009

The more dishes you can prepare a day or some hours before guests ring your doorbell, the more you reduce your stress. Here are some reasons:

You avoid a eleventh hour crisis if preparation takes longer than you thought it would.

• Whenever you like to cook, you’ll have the leisure to enjoy what you’re doing rather than feeling frantic about a deadline

• You’ve time to cleaning after you cook.

• Whenever there has a disaster, say you burn something, you’ve plenty of time to come up with an alternate plan.

• Whenever you’ve prepared the dessert ahead, you don’t need to leave the table for a long stretch just when the conversation is getting really interesting.

Put your imagination to work for you! Try to imagine your way through the eleventh hour jobs you’ll have to get dinner negotiable, and reduce them to a minimum you feel comfortable with. It helps to think of what all those eleventh hour jobs are: setting about the ice water pitcher, lighting the candles, putting items in serving dishes and getting the guests to the table. (more…)

Regardless of whether you choose hard wood, tile or carpeting on your floors, you’ll enjoy the warmth and comfort of the product.

You can install flooring over Z Mesh without any concerns on damaging the product. You can glue or staple the mesh to the sub floor. You can glue, staple or nail through the product when installing your flooring with no fear of damaging the heating element. Nailing or stapling through the product won’t damage the heating element unless it gets in contact with something electrically conductive. Most standard installations of flooring won’t pose a problem with this, however. The Z Mesh flooring is highly durable and will withstand a lot of depreciation in addition to installing flooring over it. It’s also a safe product with the low voltage allowing you to touch the mesh directly even during operation. (more…)

Comparison of Medieval and Renaissance Marriage Customs.

Friday, June 12th, 2009

The Old and New wills provided early church leaders with conflicting views regarding marriage. Biblical writings had clearly indicated men and women relationships outside the confines of marriage, multiple partner marriages, and the use of concubines.

The Bible was also rampant with stories of lust as in the story of David and Bathsheba. Saint Augustine defended this by writing that God said it pleased him that certain individuals amongst the Patriarchs of the Bible have many wives, specifically for the multiplication of their offspring. He further suggested that the only reason women would need more than one husband would be for lustful satisfaction.

To give the old guy his due, he also is credited with saying, “Let everybody of you particularly so love his wife just as himself, and the wife see that she reverence her husband.” Augustine considered marriage a sacrament, a permanent union of religion. (more…)

Window and Portable Air Conditioners

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

Perhaps the most widely used air conditioners are the window air conditioners. They’re quite popular for heating and cooling in both domestic and commercial premises. The basic advantage of a window air conditioner is that unlike the central air conditioners and the split air conditioners, it fits well in the window giving a good look and it doesn’t occupy any space of the room in the least.

Moreover, window air conditioners don’t need to be shifted every now and again from one place to the other. All the same, like any other air conditioning equipment, it produces noise, the intensity of which differs with the type and size of the window air conditioners. Constant noise can so be very disturbing and distressing to the home and surrounding residents.

It’s, therefore, advisable for the consumer to compare window air conditioners by checking the sound power level labels on the unit or in the literature specifications. The background level* are often acceded decibel ratings and the higher the decibel level, the louder the unit will be. The instantaneous sound pressure increases by a factor oftentimes for every 10-decibel increase. For instance, 60 Decibels is 10 times louder than 50 Decibels and 100 times louder than 40 dBs.   (more…)
